I have a personal passion for innovation in person-centric healthcare, and this passion led me to found HITC as a healthcare integrated technology company in 2016. I see such tremendous diversity in the systems and devices that are being created in healthcare right now, so I’m endlessly fascinated with exploring the opportunities that integrating these disparate systems offers. In doing so I believe we can add significant value to existing systems and to society, save many lives and improve the quality of life for millions of people and their families.

I started my career by creating several successful startups, and the feather in my cap has been taking Miller Energy from a pink-sheet to the NYSE. I was ok with that until recently, but now I’m looking for an even bigger feather. Here I see an opportunity for integrating the exploding healthcare space, and given my passions for helping people, growing companies and building teams, integrating healthcare seems a perfect platform on which to launch the next phase of my career path.

My vision is to bring enterprise-scale software development to the senior care and at-home care markets. With so many different systems and devices being developed and all craving to be part of the health ecosystem, the best solution for them all is a full integration – this should be the natural progression for healthcare – but it will be a monumental undertaking. We’re starting with our minimum viable product – a breakthrough fall detector. But the potential scale we are aiming for is to create an architecture which integrates this device with the multitude of all devices currently available on the healthcare market, and with the at-home and professional systems that they must integrate with, now and in the coming years.

To do that successfully and smoothly is going to require the development, integration, and implementation techniques used by the largest of Fortune 500 companies, and beyond.

I’ve spent over 20 years working with hundreds of the largest data processing and data warehousing companies in the world, coding and crunching massive amounts of data. I joined HITC in 2020 because I am passionate about health and I immediately saw how incredibly fragmented the software and hardware marketspace is. Given my big-systems integration background, I believe the healthcare industry is perfectly positioned for this massive integration endeavor.

I was board certified in Internal Medicine in 1994 and since then, I’ve made a habit of seeking out ground breaking companies. First, with HIMS (Hospital Inpatient Management Systems) in 1997 – the first hospital group to transform the efficiencies of length of stays in the hospital and in the SNF setting. Then, as Lead physician in 2000 for MD to You in Tampa FL, we were the first to implement house calls for homebound geriatric patients. In 2009 I moved to Knoxville and became the first physician to bring house call services to this area, and grew my practice to become the largest mobile medical primary care in East Tennessee. Now the advisor and Medical Director to several home health and hospice agencies and assisted living facilities in all the communities she has lived and worked in, we have tremendous potential.

It was a natural fit for me to join HITC. I love working with ‘leading-edge’ companies, and being a part of this team feels like such a natural progression for my career path. Together I believe we have the right team to transform and innovate the future of healthcare. 

For 20 years now I have had an amazing life implementing programs which bring the doctor to the patient, instead of the other way around. I know It’s hard to believe that there was a time when the physician actually made house-calls, but after COVID, that’s where medicine has to go now. People don’t want to go to the hospital or a clinic and catch something that makes them sick. I want to reform the art of primary practice using the forefront of technology to bring the doctor to the patient wherever they are. Instant healthcare, no waiting, and less expensive that the traditional brick-and-mortar model. That’s our goals. From that kind of interaction, our data will provide the insights to reforms and revolutionizing the treatment of patients in the patient’s home. This vision of technology will add a multiplier to a physician’s abilities and enable us and our staff to provide a new level of care to patients by leveraging our cutting-edge technology which reduces the cost of providing care in the home while resulting in improved patient outcomes, higher satisfaction, more convenience, and greater safety.
